“ Claire was an absolute lifeline during the birth of our second son. From a dad's perspective, she transformed the entire experience and made it incredibly special for our family.

My wife wanted a doula for this birth, given our less-than-ideal experience with our first child. We couldn't have made a better decision than choosing Claire. She was not just a doula but a true partner in this journey. Claire was like a fountain of knowledge, providing us with vital information and guidance at every step.

What sets Claire apart is her unwavering support and care. She was there when we needed her most, offering a reassuring presence that made the entire process smoother. At the same time, she respected our space and needs, allowing us to navigate the birth experience in our own way. Claire went above and beyond to ensure my wife's comfort and well-being, as well as to keep me informed and involved.

I cannot recommend Claire highly enough. She is an exceptional doula, a true professional, and a wonderful person. If you're considering a doula for your birth experience, look no further. Claire is the one you want by your side. Our family will forever be grateful for her support!”

A doula offers you:

  1. An often shorter second stage of labour

  2. The reduced likelihood of a c-section

  3. Easier transition to breastfeeding

  4. Easier transition to early parenthood

  5. Increased levels of relaxation and oxytocin

  6. Improved bonding with baby

  7. Less likelihood of an assisted birth

  8. Reduced anxiety throughout

  9. Reduced likelihood of PPD

When to book a doula

If you are considering having my support, please reach out to me as early as possible.

Lette and Pete gave birth to beautiful baby Robyn at home in a birth pool supported by me and the local home birth team. You can read Lettes birth story here on the blog.

I would always suggest for us to have an initial call together on the phone or video call and we would then take this to a zoom or an in person meeting with your partner. If we are a good fit for eachother and you decide to confirm your birth support with me, we would then arrange regular antenatal sessions to get to know you and your partner so i can fully understand what your wishes are for birth and help you to prepare in the best way.

My sessions are in depth meetings offering you the best support. I would then go on call for you 24 hours a day from 10 days before your baby is due until your baby is born. Feeding support is also included alongside a postnatal visit to encourage calm, connection and discuss anything you feel you need to cover with me.

Payment plans are usually 50% of the fee settled on confirmation of dates to hold your dates in my diary and begin the sessions together. The remaining 50% would usually be settled at 37 weeks gestation. You are able to split this into more payments if this is better for you so please enquire with me if you would like to discuss this. If you have health and medical insurance, sometimes birth doula support is covered in this, so it may be worth looking into this also.
